How much am i risking?

I am going to be putting heads, cam, miniram intake, 3.70 gears, rebuilt 700r4 and a new torque converter. My question is will astock lower end with roughly 125k on it be able to handle the power increase. Right now i run prolly in a 13.8 or so range with good traction. I am guessing the combo could be a lowwwww 12. Anyhew you guys think itll be somewhat of a good chance to run it like that? If not is therea good affordable block I can use?

I reallly would like to just keep the same block, but if it aint gonna be safe then I will dump away.

Depends more upon how high you spin it than the miles on it.

What cam & heads are you planning?

5600 RPMs shouldn't be a problem for a stock shortblock. Heads might be a little too big. You're probably looking at about 375 HP.

Not sure about low 12's, but 12's should be obtainable.

Re: How much am i risking?

Okay do you mean 5600 rpms or 6500? Also while we were on the subject. I have been the biggest fan on s/c. If i were to install a miniram setup with a megasquirt ecm and buy a used s/c and run it like 8-9 psi would that be safe? Im just tryin to gather options before i dig myself into something I cannot get out of. The s/c and miniram would be on the stock heads cam....... Am i crazy?
