Hello, I was having no problems with my car until I took her in to have the fuel pump replaced. After it was replaced when I take the gas cap off I no longer hear the pressure releasing from the fuel tank and when ever I fill it up to about 3/4 a tank or more after driving it there will be fuel spilled down the quarter panel. Since everything was working fine before wondering if anyone has had this problem before and could help me out. And if you are thinking why not take it back to the mechanic it is too late been a while since I had the pump replaced and they will no longer warranty the work.

 

hmmm try a new cap, its cheap and may work, sounds like it could not be sealing anymore, i cant tell you much as i have a vented gas cap now, since my evap emissions have been removed

 

I have the car at the mechanic's today to figure out what this problem is. I will put another post up here when I get the diagnosis. That way if it happens to anyone agian you will have a better idea of what the problem is.

 

Sounds like they might have pinched a vacuum or vent hose when they put the tank back in. It's not that hard to do something like that. Not the easiest gas tank to R&R.

 

Well took the car out on Sat. filled it up drove her pretty hard around the corners to really get the gas sloshing around and there was nothing coming out so I guess it was just the cap. Also bumped the timing up and it really woke her up. Now just have to get all my MSD stuff on there.
