Spark plug question

I hope this is not a lame question. I did some searching first before I posted, but I didn't really get to my question. What are the best plugs to use for a bone stock 305 lg4? The car is running really well, and I hate to mess with anything that is not broken, but just for grins, I have been pondering replacing the distributor cap, plug wires, and plugs because the car sat for so long. What is the right thing to do?

Also, pulling the plugs appears to be a pain. What is the best tool to use? I saw some folks were using a telescoping socket that looked functional???

You don't need anything fancy. Most any brand copper core will be fine.

I only changed plugs on the stock 305 once, I don't recall any particular problem with a standard 5/8" plug socket, although I probably went underneath for a couple of them.

Replacing the cap, rotor, plugs, & wires is a pretty safe move. Doing the O2 sensor while you're at it isn't a bad idea, either.

Re: Spark plug question

stock plugs are fine , quality wires are a must . carbon core wires start to go down hill from date of mfg. . regardless of make . suggest quality , rotor , cap , wires . i have MSD and get 27-29 mpg. hwy . accel and others are also good . metal core wires pay for themselves on one road trip . just my .
