Looking for some help, over the weekend I put on..........

edlebrock headers and y pipe
magnaflow 3" high flow cat
edlebrock TBI intake
accel cap, rotor, plugs, wires and coil
EGR valve
PVC valve
O2 sensor
Fuel filter

The car feels like it's missing, almost like a couple of wires are crossed or something. I've tripled checked the wires and timing and they are correct. The car runs and idles but there's a roughness to it. When I left a stop sign it started backfiring and poping and cutting out. I let off the gas and then gave it gas and it stopped doing it. It only did that one time. I've checked for vaccum leaks also. Besides the items listed above I have a chip, flowmaster 3" from y pipe back, underdrive pulleys. Should I maybe advance the timing a little? The car didn't do this before the upgrades. Which direction should I go in from here? The car is a 91 RS 305 TBI. Thanks!!

 

Backfire out the exhaust or the intake?

Take a peek at the engine while running at night and see if you don't see some spark leak somewhere. First thing to check.
