Main bolt torque question
I am using ARP (180,000 PSI Tensile Strength) main bolts on my new engine along with ARP Moly lube. I'm trying to figure out what my torque values need to be. According to the ARP Torque Recommendations chart (attached), 58 ft/lbs is the value to achieve optimum preload for a 7/16-14 bolt. I'm guessing that I should use this value for the inner bolts (4 bolt main), but what should I use for a torque value for the outer bolts?

Re: Main bolt torque question
Just torque them to the factory specs and you'll be fine. Considering the ARP bolts are stronger than stock, I'd certainly torque them to 70/65 instead of a mere 58 ft. lbs.
