i just installed slp runners the car idles crazy high like 5000 rpms? what the heck did i do wrong

 

You probably had the same problem as me, only I caught mine before it could potentially turn into a problem. On my SLP runners, I assembled the whole TPI on my workbench to make sure everything fit and all my port work matched up. Lo, and behold, I noticed some light peeking through at some spots where the runners mate with the plneum even with the gaskets on. Turns out my flanges were warped ever so slightly. Enough that it was causing a leak, but you'd never be able to tell up close. had I thrown it on my car, my car would be revving high just like yours does.

Two options, you can either have your runners milled down or do what I did, apply RTV to both sides of the gasket to seal everything up. It'll make for a real fun job when I need to reomve everything next time around, but at least I got no leaks. I hope this helps.

 

5000rpms??????? are you sure about that? 5000rpms is almost the equivalent of having the gas pedal pushed to the floor.....or no throttle body.

check your throttle body blades to see if they are hanging oped due to a mis-aligned cable.

Make sure the runners are not crossed. I think there is a right and a left side.

You have a vacume leak.
