Best time for plug change?

I put ngk iridiums in my car last spring. i dunno if i should change them again this spring bc i am changing the plug wires.

Iridiums cost an arm and a leg. I'd check a few, and replace only if necessary.
Check the gap, the size of the electrode (which is always tiny on iridium plugs anyway...) and if they are gunked up or anything. If they look ok, just scrub them with a metal toothbrush and dip them in some solvent and put them back in.

how do you like the iridiums I had one in my bike but it died. be careful I busted an electrode off one of those when I was trying to open up the gap a "hair" not a mm but oh well.

Actually I am not so sure. I think my wires are bad so I don't think I am getting the most out of my plugs.
