Re: engine rebuilding help

What's your plan for the rebuild? Short block and top end ?How much more 'performance' would you like from this motor? That willset the stage for what suggestions are made.At a minimum, I would find a gasket kit, and replace the ignition components, and filters. If you have the motor out, replace the timing chain as well. That's a good start.

Re: engine rebuilding help

well iv been looking at kits that contain things such as gaskets, timing chain, pistons, cams, stuff like that. on the rebuild alone i just wanna add maybe another 20-30 hp? im also gonna add headers and stuff like that. id like to make 250-300hp by the end of the rebuild. it has an edelbrock intake on it, and flowmasters, but other then that its basically stock. so what would i need to make a solid 300hp? im kind of new to this but im quite eager to learn about it so help me out. thanks!

Re: engine rebuilding help

take the motor out and send it to the machine shop

after the block, rods, crank and heads check out ask us again what to do when you post your findings

if you are buying stuff now or making any plans to buy stuff you are looking for a black string in a completly dark room
