need help asap
I've been workin on this car for about two years. within the first two months the fuel pump went bad. we replaced it and yesterday got it runnin and took it around the block. the first ride was perfect except the unbolted seats. but when my brother hoped in it went down hill. every time he touched the gas it would bog down
. the people at advanced auto told us to replace the harness inside the fuel tank. i know some of these guys have no idea what they are talking about so i wanted to see if you guys could give me another possible answer.
btw i have and 87 305 tpi

i have new K&N air filters and most of the vacuum lines were replaced. right now its timed only by ear. but the timing wouldnt affect it after one go around. it would have affected it from the start. ill have to check the fuel filter.

yes we tested the system. we didnt like measure it or anythin but the check valve barely spit out any fuel. thats why i figured maybe the wire went bad.
lol seems like every step forward is two steps back with these cars. cant complain though they are amazing.

Yea i agree these cars are pretty good when they're running. The best part is they have such a big fan base, thirdgen.org is a pretty amazing site. But anyway, you should probably check with a gauge, as 25-30 psi of fuel pressure can make a car run poorly. you need 41-46 psi. So did you change the pulsator or replace it with a piece of hose? They can cause pressure problems. Theyre actually known for causing pressure problems, pretty much a worthless piece if you ask me.

thats it-the top of your fuel pump should stick right into the bottom of this. Many people replace them with a piece of fuel injection hose and two fuel injection hose clamps. These things can cause low pressure situations when the rubber o-rings inside get cracked and such
