Re: finished the 383!!

Looks like you should have a pretty nice set up there. What is you estimated HP?? Also a quick question about the Patriot heads?? Did the intake gaskets match up OK??? Ive heard that they use the larger 1206 style gaskets and that intake matching is necassay?? Let here her fire up!! Good luck.

Re: finished the 383!!

yeah it should be 10.7 gonna be premium only at the minimum the dynamic cr should be around 9.2-9.3 which is kinda high. and even gasket matching he intake the port alignment isn't that great. the head ports are more like a vortec port witch is why they have there flow carecteristics

Re: finished the 383!!

it calculates out to 9.274

4.030 bore
.041 thk gasket
4.166 gasket bore
deck at 0
piston head 7cc valve relifes
64cc chambers
3.750 stroke
5.7 rod
39.5 ic + 15 = 54.5

=
9.274

Re: finished the 383!!

i see you use the + 15 rule. that isnt always the case

if 39.5 is your intake closing at .050, i used this formula to get IC at .006 or seat

intake closing at .050" + ( (advertised duration - .050" duration) / 2)

thats the 103 voodoo cam right? flat tappet? advertised at 268 on the intake, so your IC at seat timing should be closer to 60 instead of 54. That will lower things abit and be much better for pump gas, i think your in the clear and should have a solid running motor
