how do i check my tach?
i installed a used digital dash.
the tach seems to be pretty close but i want to make sure.
once i locate the wire what do i need to check the signal and lets say i get a certain voltage how can i translate that into rpms?

Re: how do i check my tach?
It only has a 200 rpm resolution. If you take a close look at the picture below you can see that if the 2100 rpm line is lit, then the actual rpm can be anywhere from 2000 to 2200 because it can only display 1900, 2100, and 2300 rpm.
Pretty useless, huh?
The second pic shows another tach and if the needle is halfway between the 2100 and 2200 marks it can show 2150. A resolution of 50 rpm.
Notice I'm not saying the analog gauge is that accurate, but it is still more accurate than the "digital" tach behind it.
