Car Jerks When in Drive at 35+

Hi guys, I have yet another problem with my 'bird and no idea where to start fixing it. Here's the prob: When driving at 35+ the car jerks when letting off the accelerator and immediately starts to drop in speed when coasting (usually around 10mph within a few seconds). Thing is when the car is in overdrive it's nice and smooth and coasts for quite awhile. Also, I drove it last night with the heat on and had it in drive and it was smooth as it is in overdrive. Anyone have any ideas? Would a tune-up solve the problem (it's scheduled to get on thursday)? Thanks!

with the trans in DRIVE ONLY that is just the D... no circle it will allow for engine braking... that slowdown you are experiencing... but OD the D inside the circle will allow you to coast

To try it slower... drop it into 1st at a stop, then try goin to about 15 mph and let off the pedal... a bit over kill but its basicly engine brakin
