1991 Z28 305 TPI WILL NOT START WILL NOT EVEN TURN OVER ANY IDEAS
Re: 1991 Z28 305 TPI WILL NOT START WILL NOT EVEN TURN OVER ANY IDEAS
Maybe it's cause your CAPSLOCK is stuck!
Quit screaming.
There's lots of things that could be going on...maybe some details of exactly what DOES happen?
Does the starter work? Is there a battery in the car? Gas?
The block could be ceased and rusted inside...who knows.

Exactly.
Check your battery connections. I've had some funky problems where the interior would light up as normal, but the engine wouldn't crank and all the dash and stuff would go dead when you tried to start the car. Tightened up the battery cables and away I went.

Have the battery tested with a quality proffesional tester. I see many cheap batteries from wal-mart and sears fail after only a couple months, espescially if the car sits alot.

V.A.T.S.? i havent ever owned a fuel injected third gen, but have heard about it on here, and if it was messed up, i believe that V.A.T.S. would prevent cranking.
definietly charge/check the battery though.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where the VATS module is or what it looks like. I just bypassed the thing entirely.

I don't think the vats will prevent the engine from cranking,it disables the fuel system if I am remembering correctly. If its not cranking, check the battery charge...should have at least 12volts, then start checking the starter for voltage on the signal wire with the key in the start position and the supply wire should always have bttery volts. Then work from there and don't forget to test fuses...the best way is with a test light. If you need more help PM me and I'll try to walk you through it. Good luck.

Turned out to be corrosion on the positive battery terminal and inside the positive terminal of the battery side post.

Start with the easy stuff first check your battery, both cables, starter, fuses and then check your vats, your car will not crank at all if it's your vats.

Check all fuses and relays, battery voltage inside and outside the battery terminals, of course check your codes.

Yeah VATS will result in absolutely NOTHING happening. It DOES sound like VATS to me, but the nature of that system makes ruling it out ambiguous at best.
