My Combo
My Combo
Block is back from the machine shop and ready to start buying more parts and assembling.
This is going in an 89 Camaro hooked to a TCI TH350 with 2400 stall (maybe higher) and 4:10 gears. Not a daily driver, weekend car and occasional cruise. I ripped out alll HVAC, sound deadner, etc..... car used to be a V6.
010 cast 4 bolt main 350.
align honed
.030 over
square decked
cam bearings, freeze plugs (already complete and picked up)
Eagle Street/Strip rotating assembly 355 ci
Comp Cams CL122133
Operating Range:2500-6500 RPMDuration Advertised:292° Intake / 292° ExhaustDuration @ .050'' Lift:244° Intake / 244° ExhaustValve Lift w/1.5 Rockers:.501'' Intake / .501'' ExhaustLobe Separation Angle:110°
Performer RPM Air Gap, (matches my cam vs the RPM Air Gap)
Dart Iron Eagle II heads
SB-Chevy Iron Eagle Platinum Series Cylinder Head,
2.02'' Int/1.60'' Exh Valves
1.250'' Springs, 140lbs @ 1.700''
.510'' Max Lift
Straight Plug
CR is to be between 10.5 to 11.1
Holley 4150 Series 750 double pumper
Hooker longtubes
That should be good for about 400 - 450 hp ???
Havent completely made up my mind though if I should just get the 383 rotating assembly........

Re: My Combo
That's HIGHLY optimistic.
You're going to need a 3500RPM stall speed at least.
Look at a better cam. I wouldn't use a flat tappet over 238* duration @.050, since that means the RPMs will be up in the solid flat tappet range. I'd look at a solid, or step down on the cam.
Why a straight pattern and not a split pattern?
