Smog pump delete: vaccum lines?
I've got an 86 LG4 and i'm putting headers on it so im pulling the smog system off. What do i do with the vaccum lines going from the "mass of hoses" on the passenger side to the top of the intake manifold where the water hose goes in. Thanks.

You dont have to remove the smog system when you install headers. In fact, federal law says you have to leave the smog devices alone on a street car.
If you really have to remove them, you'll need to provide more info. I'm not totally familiar with an '86 LG4, but the only rubber hoses for the air system I can think of go from the diverter valve to the tubes on the headers, and one goes around the back to the driver's side. The other vacuum lines going to the carb you should leave alone, or you might mess up the way the car idles and runs.

Re: Smog pump delete: vaccum lines?
i have to take the smog system off, otherwise it won't be doing anything. The headers don't have A.I.R tubes, and i gutted the cat. There are two plugs that plugged into the smog thing and like two vaccum lines that wend into it and plug into the top of the manifold where the top radiator line goes into. right next to the water temp sensor. Non of them go into the carburator. The only ones that goes into the carb is the Secondaries air valve vaccum and the pre-heat valves on the air cleaner.
