350 Engine Question

Im swapping a 350 into my v6 camaro soon. The motor has no accessorie's on it or brackets. My uncle is giving me an alternator bracket off a 350 truck, i dont know the year. Will this work under my hood? Also i bought a single groove crankshaft pulley, im wanting to an alternator, power steering pump and water pump. Can i get a short enough belt that i wont need a tensioner or idler pulley?

Re: 350 Engine Question

you mean a long enough belt... v-belts arent made to run like a serp. set up not enough surface area to handle ps/water/alt you will need more belts plus the correct water pump as certain pump are designed for reverse rotation of a serp setup

Re: 350 Engine Question

I dont really want to use V-belts. I was hoping to use a serpentine ( 1 belt ) system. So your saying I have to use V-belts? In that case i need to take the crankshaft pulley back to Gm Dealership and buy a 3 groove pulley? Will i need a long or short water pump? the motor is out of a 95 tahoe, so im thinking a long. The water pumps on autozone's website are all reverse water pumps.
