Water pouring down out of the Upper Plenum/MAF area
88 Iroc, 350 TPI
Until I take it apart and with my limited knowledge... I am pointing towards a cracked manifold somewhere. There doesn't appear to be any water in the oil, as it isn't milky. So I hope the block has been spared....
The car cut off while I was at a red light. I tried to start it, I go a billow of steamy smoke out the tail pipe (clearly steam as the smell wasn't that of oil).
The next day I pop the hood, and try to start the car after we tow it back home. I noticed the gas/water literally pouring out of the throttle body/air intake section and down through the MAF sensor...
Ideas folks?
Any similar experiences?

the tpi has 2 hoses running to the throttle body, these hoses are coolant hoses to heat the throttle body in cold weather (not needed in texas) you can do whats called a throttle body coolant by-pass(go to homepage to tech articles, look up throttle body coolant by-pass) it has pics as to how to do this procedure.if youre lucky the throttle body has a hole in the by-pass and the coolant is going in the plenum.hope this is all thats wrong later, jimmy

I bypassed it, that was definitely the issue. Car starts... unfortunately... There is water in the combustion chamber... I can run the car for about 30 mins (while it spews steam) then it hits about 160 and dies.
Will I be able to burn out the water? or am I ****ing my engine up the *** haha...

you ran the car for half an hour and theres still coolant in the cylinders? If thats true its still leaking into em from somewhere.

I can only guess that alot of water blew in from when it originally crack. The car was at about 220 when it happened, I'm sure it spewed in for atleast an hour after the car was off... Guess I'll keep trying to burn it out. The Exhaust is getting a steam cleaning, I know that much. I'm not noticing any drop in water level in the radiator.

Bypassed the TB coolant hoses. Took the Plenum off and Dumped water out of it. Steam has stopped.
Had to replace the Fuel Pressure regulator as well... It was going out.
Runs fine now.
