Mysterious White Smoke Coming out Exhaust
I have a 1987 Pontiac Trans Am, on my way home today i noticed that my car is running really choppy, there is a thick white smoke coming from the exhaust, the smoke smells like gas... so much its nauseating. I've been told that white smoke is due to coolant/antifreeze getting into the cylinder. But the coolant level is going down as if there was a leak. any one have any ideas??

Makes sense. if it is getting into the cylinder and burning, the coolant level would go down.

Sorry typo, the coolant level is NOT going down. Also i have read about the possibility of diesel fuel contamination. it was filled up on monday but started running terrible today (thursday). and there was no gradual drop in performance either. it ran fine on the way to my destination, but ran like crap on the way back.

Well do you have a reason to believe it has diesel in it? If so, I'd say drain the tank and refill with good gas. If not, that's a lot of hassle to worry about just a hunch.
Also, have you checked to see if you've got oil in the coolant? Could be you've blown a head valve gasket or something like that.

I would vote for head gasket too.
