Control module keeps burning out

I have a 305tbi and the control module on the distributor keeps burning out. It has been replaced 3 times. Any ideas of why it's doing this or what I should check? Would replacing the distributor help? I'm so lost.

Re: Control module keeps burning out

Are you applying heat sink compound to the bottom of the ign module? Without the compound, they can't disappate the heat fast enough and fry themselves.

Between the compound on the bottom, and a small possibility of a cracked distributor cap letting in moisture when it rains or goes through a car wash.
