91 TBI Distrubator with non-roller cam?
I know it's not a 3rd gen, but I am retro fitting a 70 Monte Carlo with a TPI unit (SD).
I got a distributor from a 91 RS with a TBI. I believe that engine is a roller cam. Do I need to change the distributor gear to use my hydraulic flat tappet cam? I am going back with my Erson T-Q-20 cam... I think the specs are .449 Lift int/exh and .214 @ .050 with a 114 lobe separation.
Thanks...

Truck TBI engines used flat tappet cams, and used the same distributor.
It'll be fine.

Ok, Thanks. Now I just need to get the TBI harness repinned, run the fuel lines, retro fit a late model Caprice tank with internal pump, and get the prom chip set-up. Not to mention get the body back on the frame...lol...
