Can I block off these hoses and hole?

Alright,

I want to know if I can remove the following hoses and just cap off where they were going to.

The highlighted areas refer to the places that I want to cap off and get rid of the hoses that go to them.

I want to plug this valve cover and remove the hose that connects to it and cap off the TB opening.

I also want to get rid of this hose that goes from this canister to the lower opening on the TB.

This would help get rid of some hoses that are strewn across my engine,
If someone could explain to me why I need to keep them that would be great, but if it's not gonna hurt anything by taking them off, then I want to get rid of them.

Will anything bad happen if I cap off the valve cover, the vacuum canister, and the throttle body openings?

If it does get plugged it wont be with a little filter, it will have a rubber grommet put in it's place.

The one in the valve cover going to the throttle body is your PCV valve, and it provides a valuable function to remove gasses from your crankcase.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pcv_valve

Its also deemed part of your emissions system and it cannot be tampered with on a street car in the United States.

The other one going from the evap canister (or charcoal canister) to the throttle body is what pulls gasoline vapors out of the tank. Without it, your gas tank will be under pressure while you're driving and could cause the fuel pump problems as it tries to suck gas when the tank is low. Its also considered part of the emissions devices and should not be removed.

Your best bet, is to just make it look as good as possible, the valve cover. DO NOT PLUG IT, go and get a nice chrome breather cap for it, you CAN cap off the other end of it, the one on the throttle body, but do not mess with the evap canister.
