NEED HELP BADLY WITH OIL SENSOR

NEED HELP BADLY WITH OIL SENSOR

I GOT A NEW BLOCK FROM JASPERS ENGINES AND INSTALLED EVERYTHING. IT GOT DOWN TO THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR ABOVE THE OIL FILTER. I RAN A TAP THROUGHT THE THREADS AND GOT A NEW SENSOR. THE THREADS WERE FINE. I CANT GET THE THREADS TO START AT ALL. I NEED SUGESTIONS OR ANY KIND OF HELP PLEASE

do the sensor and the block have the same threads?did you possible mess the threads up when you ran the tap threw?if not try from different angles.ive had my dad go back and try wat i was doing and it go in.

does anyone hav any ideas. the threads are good but i dont think theres a start point for it to catch. anyone know how to fix this

It may be the sensor thats bad then, check if it has a start on the threads.. if not, get it replaced.. if the threads looks fine in the block, then its ok there..

I beleive the thread on that fitting is 1/4" NPT, if that helps any.

the threads are the same on both the hole and the sensor. i got a bolt to see if i can put it through but it wouldnt. but the tap goes in fine

there are no bolts with 1/4 npt if you ran a different tap than 1/4 npt into the passage of a completely assembled engine you have a problem... you no doubt put metal into the oil passage and most likely screwed up the threads...

jasper isnt a high dollar engine builder for nascar but they know what they are doing most of the time.... there probably was no reason to run a tap through that hole especailly the wrong one....

i fixed the problem. it was the threads and jaspers told me to fun a pipe thread throught it and not the sensor fits perfect. thatnks for all the help guys.

1/4 NPT stands for 1/4" National Pipe Thread... npt... huh so jasper told you to run the correct tap and it works...

thought damon mentioned that...
