i need help identifying a camshaft

Hi all, i picked a set of vette 083 heads up today and the seller gave me a bunch of xtras in the box. One was a roller camshaft that used to be the motor but he doesnt know the specs. The only thing i found on the came was this "cpc bc 115 049". Ive tried searching everywhere and i havent found anything to indicate whether i received a stock cam or a decent cam

So i ask, can you solve the mystery?

Vettes didn't get 083 heads.

I don't know the answer to your question about the cam, but that may tell you something about the person from whom you got these parts.

Re: i need help identifying a camshaft

Measure across the base circle of the lobe. Measure the lobe. That can at least tell you how much lift the cam has.

Without installing it into an engine and using a degree wheel to find the cam specs, it's hard to know exactly what it is.

ok not to argue but his 89 vette was sitting there being parted out and bad short block sitting next to the heads

buuuuuut, after some research im kinda confused why there where f-body heads on a corvette lol. The lower intake i got with heads has the egr provisions. From what i gather the corvette tpi didnt have the egr on the intake

the cam loped he said and a buddy of his said same thing later. I get a pic of cam to maybe see if you guys can see if its a stocker or not lol.

I can't help you with the cam but I can tell you that the vette did not come with those heads. I know. I have an 89 vette. I have an intire shelf of corvette books several year by year spec book as well. The 89 vette only came with aluminum heads in one type only. Excluding ZR-1 of course. Either way they weren't great heads. LOL

Sure, but it doesn't mean that short block came out of that Corvette.

A used cam of unknown provenance is worth almost nothing, aside from whatever scrap metal value it might have.
