Installed Shift kit, now engine feels sluggish.
K so heres the deal. I work at a Chevy dealership and so i had a buddy of mine who is a master in the transmissons area install my B&M Transpack shift improver kit today. The weekend before i adjusted my timing because when i check it it was not at the stock 0* but at +12*!!! So me and my dad bumped it down to +4* and the engine ran and responed awsome. But now that i have the shift kit installed it seems to hesitate in 1st now and seems sluggish. Is this because the engine has to work harder now with the shift kit installed? Should i try bumping the timing up to +6* to see if it repsonds better? Keep in mind i just just done plugs, wires, ignition coil, cap and rotor. I fixed a broken vacum hose tonite and it seems a little better but boy does she squck them good into 2nd. Maybe im just imaging things. Ill def be able to tell more once i get the headers and full exhaust done next week. Any imput is appreciated!

I think it's common. My firebird and blazer both did that when i installed shift kits. In my firebird it was ready for a new engine. The blazer got the computer re-programmed and ran fine after.
Timing is adjusted from the factory for mileage. It might makes a little of what you're missing up, but not a lot.

May be some trash broke loose in the trans. Drive awhile and see if clears up.

that may be, but the tranny fliud looked great when we pulled the pan, but it didnt look so good when i first got the car. Also after taking a better look, i found a broken vacum hose on the passenger side to the manifold. Engine idels and responds a little better but it still feels sluggish. I need valve seals done badly and now after all this i have a small gas leak going from the 3/4 inlet fitting on the backside of the tb! just my luck....
