2 questions, need answers!

1. My right turn signal doesn't blink anymore. When I push it up, the green arrow and the lights, light up but don't blink, and it doesn't make that blinking sound. When I push down for left turn signal, everything works fine. I use to be able to push up real hard to get it to blink, but now it stays and doesn't blink. What should I do to fix it? (This is the one I'm worried about)

2. When my car is in park the idle shoots to 1500-1700 and stays there until I put it in R or D where it drops to 1000. Is this normal? I also notice that my gas pedal vibrates, I never noticed that before. Seems sorta high, even at at stop light the 1000rpm idle seem high.

Thanks

To your first question I would start in one of three places.
1. check your blinker bulb. It's a dual use bulb used for both the parking lamps and turn signals. Most likely the turn signal element in the bulb went bad. you can look in it and see if one of the elements is bad. if the element is good, swap that bulb for the one on the other side and see if the problem follows. if it does, then the bulb is bad. if it doesn't, it's time to look elsewhere.
2. if the bulb is good, then check the turn signal relay. the only problem is...I don't know where that is on this car. In my 67 Camaro it's behind the dash. This is also (i'm 90% positive) the piece that makes the "clicking" sound you hear when the blinker is blinking.
3. If that's good, then maybe the switch on the lever went bad. As you said you had to really mash it to get it to work before, you might want to start with this before going to the bulb...even though the bulb is way easier to check. I hope this helps!

For the second question, I would say that your idle is adjusted to high or you have a vacuum leak. If it were carbed I would say look at your idle stop solenoid. For someone more knowledgable with them, do TPI cars have idle stop solenoids? FYI...The reason the car drops down in RPM when you shift into gear is because the trans is loading down the engine.

Thanks man, I don't know where to begin with the turn signal. Everything lights up fine so I know the bulb isn't bad.

BTW: How do you turn on the car's hazard lights. I never learned.

Re: 2 questions, need answers!

It's a "dual use" bulb. Meaning that there are 2 filaments in it. 1 for the parking light and 1 for the turn signal in the same bulb. This reason (that ozz gave you) is the most common reason for your turn signal symptom.

The hazard light switch is the round thing-a-ma-jig on the right side of the steering column. Just pull it out to turn 'em on.

If the super high idle is a new development I would look into a vacuum leak. A idle jump that large may be a larger vacuum hose but not necessarily.

Re: 2 questions, need answers!

i've seen these not blink because the rear sidemarker light was out.must have to make a total connection all the way around.make sure your bulbs are all good i hadan 82ta that did this and it would usually be one of the sidemarker lights
