Turn left and smoke
Alright. I have an 87 v6 that if i make a hard left it smokes at the steering wheel and drivers side under the hood close to the firewall. Looked under the hood and everything looks fine. I noticed its only when i make u turns. Also i put a brand new altenator on and it already sounds like the old one which just locked up one day out of the blue. Need help.
Thanks in advance.

If it kind of stings (or tingles) in your nose then it's PVC wire insulation.
You could have an unfused wire being pinched by the engine, steering gear, or wheel suspension. If so you could be facing an electrical fire and serious damage. I'd put a lot of effort to inspect everything closely and locate the culprit. Get under the car if you have to, but take care to support the car.

Re: Turn left and smoke
My first thought was coolant or some other fluid like windshield washer fluid or something spilling out on turns and landing on the exhaust.
