Wanting to build the engine, not sure what to do
hey guys, I have an '88 GTA w/ the 305 TPI.. about the only thing thats not stock is the flowmaster muffler. She's a beauty, but, as most 3rd gens, she could be better. I want to start building the motor. I definately want to go with super/turbo charger sometime in the future, but not quite yet. I also wanna go with a full roller cam setup. I'm just not exactly sure what to do with everything else. Should I leave the stock TPI or should I go with a completely new Fuel Injection system. What kind of pistons should I go with? what about crank? connecting rods? pushrods? Heads? headers? ignition (msd is probabbly the best way to go here)? I'm talkin everything. I'm definately going to stay away from anything edelbrock though.. for some reason I just don't like edelbrock products.. about the farthest I would go with them is valve covers and stailess braided hoses cuz they look pretty lol. Anyways, I'd like this thread to be more of an informational thing, I wanna hear some good opinions.. thanks!

its already a full roller cam setup
tpi is good to 400hp (according to obdi restrictions iirc) and up to 5000rpms
figure out how much you want to spend and what you would like out of your car in the end and you will get awesome answers. an open question like that has been done lots of times and using the search will show them, i am guilty of it myself.....

Drop in a Lt1 there is so much more potential in a 350. You wont gain that much horsepower or torque with the stock 350 then your stock 305. But the 350 is a better engine if you are looking for forced induction in the future.
