Mass air relay?

Hi all, I have a 89 Formula 350 that just rolled 64,000 and to celbrate itself the check engine light had come on. I brought the car to a local garage and had him check the codes and he said it was the Mass air sensor but before I go and try and locate a replacment to try and find a relay. So id like to know if anyone has encountered this issue before and if so how it was corrected.Any info would help!

Re: Mass air relay?

Verify power to the MAF with the ignition on:

You can also test the MAF output signal with the engine running:

Re: Mass air relay?

The thing is when I initially start the car the check engine light does not come on. After driving the car about 150 feet or so then it comes on. When I started the car at the shop no codes came up so I took it around the block then left it runing once the light came on. Thats when the mass air code came up. I will buy another mass air if need be but would like to make sure that this is def the issue
