stock tpi injectors and 30# injectors

Axle/Gears: 3.73
stock tpi injectors and 30# injectors

i have two faulty stock injectors in my 86 camaro tpi but i have a set of new 30 pound injectors could i be able to use this injectors without having to tune and would it run good not rich and would fuel milage go down with this injectors? my motor is stock internals just a few bolt ons

30 pound injectors would be way too much without tuning the chip. even with tuning the chip they may be too much for a stock motor.

You have to reprogram the chip to run those, and its really not a good idea on a stock engine anyway. You need a pretty serious engine to have a need to run injectors that large.

For those with inquiring minds:

Why would 30's be too large for a stock engine if the injector constant is properly set in the bin?

Large injectors like that have a low pulse width at idle and quite often the idle suffers badly.

Go with Bosch III from Jon at Fuel Injector Connection (FIC) he takes 169,95 for a set of 8
He leaves 3 years warranty on them and they have a great spraypattern and they are flowmatched and flow exactly the same.

I would buy those anyday Never had better injectors than those in my car

Doesn't the ECM take the injector constant and use that, amoung other things, to calculate pw?

Yes but once you get below a certain threshold the pw drops below what can be realistically supplied accurately.

well that sucks! i was going to use these 30# in a 383 hsr motor with a cc306 cam and afr heads which im pretty close to get done with, and wanted a quick fix on the tpi i got right now because it was running terribly rich. what other cars came with this size injectors i could try the junk jard..
