Vacuum leak or bad gas recirculation valve switch/electronic vacuum regulator valv

Well when I pull the codes on my '91 RS the following codes come up:
32-gas recirculation valve diagnostic switch OR Fault in electronic vacuum regulator valve
33-High voltage (low vacuum) at mass air flow sensor (or MAP sensor)
45-Oxygen sensor rich

When the car starts up smoke comes out the back and from what I know it has been tuned once when the 350 was put in 20k miles ago so I am guessing that is from poor tuning. It may come from my vacuum problem but I do not know.

Where should I go about fixing this? When the car is being driven it shuts down. Randomly. I could be driving for 2 minutes or 20 minutes. But once shutdown I just slip to neutral (even while rolling) and it starts RIGHT back up. Then randomly shuts down again. Upon start up when it shuts down the Check Engine Light will go off for maybe 10-20 seconds then come back but wen started cold it is on instantly.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

I had that same random shut down on my 87 z28. It was really common when slowing down or sitting at a light. I cut the cat off and so far so good.

when i pull my codes i normally pop up with a 32, even though ive done EVERYTHING to fix it, its just retarded, id replace the O2 sensor, then have it tuned, however that will cost you a pretty penny unless you know someone with a tuning setup. OR if you really wanna have fun invest in the tuning setup and do it yourself lol i was getting the 33 when my map sensor was going bad, id look into that if i were you because that random cutoff you talk about, i got that too and it progressively got worse to the point where it would jerk my car like a bucking bull then die, i could bump start if i was rolling but other than that forget it lol. Map sensors are like 80 bucks from summit just remember if it gets worse that probably the issue

Alright I'll replace the O2 sensor first. I would rather see if I have a vacuum leak or if one of the switches or regulator is broken before I buy a 80 dollar switch that may not be replaced as I am 16 with low/not enough income.

same boat dude 18 with a car older than me if you wanna look for vaccum leaks go to autozone and get a vaccum gauge and hook it up the little booklet they give you with it will tell you what the behavior of the gauge means.

I just threw in the map sensor part as a heads up so if it starts getting rough when it cuts out look there because i targeted my fuel system and i replaced everything from the pressure regulator to the pump and i flushed my lines, kinda crappy thing about our cars is they arent as specific when it comes to the codes

Hmmm I will check out autozone right now. I hope it is not my map sensor.
