88 Iroc-Z Won't Start
Alright, first of all this car has been a project of mine for several years. I recently rebuilt the engine and swapped over to TPI setup using BobR's EBL Flash program. I wired it all up, installed a BBK fuel pump, plugged in a bin for a Corvette and it ran like a charm. No problems whatsoever.
Every once in a while, the car wouldn't maintain idle. It would high idle to about 1000 rpms then down to 500. In gear it would idle around 825.
Thinking everything was all clear, I took a trip with the car. It made it 1970 miles (40 miles from my destination) and stalled out on the highway. No warnings, just stopped making power, sputtered for 3 seconds and stalled. It has spark to all 8 cylinders, a fresh fuel filter, a functioning fuel pump (you can hear it pressurizing when you turn the key), and a new Idle Air Control Valve.
Using the Dynamic EBL system, I plugged my laptop in to monitor all the sensors. There aren't any malfunction codes, the battery is reading 12.2 volts, Manifold absolute pressure is high at startup (98 kPa) then pulls down to around 40. I don't think its a vacuum leak, but I could be wrong. Either way, the car will start for a second or two, then cut out. I haven't checked the fuel pressure yet, but I know the Injectors are functioning since I can hear them, and I put a voltage tester on them and got positive results. No blown fuses, everything checks out perfectly.
Sorry for such a long post, but I took the usual measures in checking everything out: air, fuel, spark. I'm baffled now, any advice?

Re: 88 Iroc-Z Won't Start
Check the fuel pressure would be my first step. Hearing the pump does not means the entire 'system' is functioning. I found the 1.75 inch flexible hose positioned between the fuel pump and the hard line (inside the tank) had developed a crack. Fuel was squirting back into the fuel tank area when I was trying to start the car. The pump SOUNDED great! With the line run to an empty fuel tank beneath the fuel filter it pumped out in an impressive volume. I replaced the 1.75 inch hose and could then start the car. That hose must be similar to NAPA H213 (submersible meeting SAE 30R10 rating).

funny you should mention that, I checked the fuel pressure and had about 4 psi, barely one tenth what I should have. I pulled the tank (fun task) and found a split in the same exact hose. Interesting coincidence. Thanks again though!
