It is a single black wire going into a plug (in pic) that probably plugs into something on the passenger side rear of the motor. I just do not know where it plugs into....!!

Great picture ... I do not recognize that type of EGR. Hope you get a response from someone with a similar component.

Do you mean the connector to the harness? It comes out in back of the coil by the corner of the valve cover. Get a flash light and look down.

Yes--I am looking for where it connects into the harness...

I have looked for hours, removed the coil, distributor cap, traced the wiring harness as far as I could looking for a connector, gotten underneath the car and looked up, used mirrors.... I'll check again right now....I really wish I could find this...

I searched there and found the EGR solenoid connection there--is that what you are referring to? or to the EGR temp sensor?...

No, there's a single wire connector that attaches to the temp sensor. Tomorrow I'll look to see exactly where it comes out if it will help you.

Here is where it is in my '87 Iroc. It's the connector in front of the coil. It goes into the harness behind the coil/engine.

Thanks a million--I will re-look--at least I know where it should be....

If is not there I will keep trying to see where it enters the wiring harness...

Re: EGR Temp sensor--where does it plug into?
Maybe it's broken off in the harness. The harness runs from the ECM behind where the glove box would be, to the bottom just behind the inner fender, and to the back of the engine. You can always find the wire at the ECM and run your own. I attached the shop manual diagram which should help you find the right wire if you go that way.

Re: EGR Temp sensor--where does it plug into?
To add closure to this in case anyone else runs into this problem.

My car is a 1990 MAP car. The EGR w/temp sensor is for a 1989 MAF car--someone put it on the wrong year car. The sensor does not plug into my car. I wasted 4 days looking. I'll never get that back!! Ouch.
