MAF question
Hey,
another question-I have an intermittent CEL on my 1989 2.8, and I pulled a code 33 when I checked it out. I checked the connector at the MAF, and everything seemed normal-close to B+ voltage at the wire coming from the MAF relay, close to 5v at the PCM wire, and a good ground. while these values seem good to me, i am having trouble getting specs and good information for this engine/car (chiltons and haynes dont really give much info other than wiring diagrams). are these numbers good, or do I have a problem? is it simply time for a new MAF, or is there more troubleshooting I should be doing? thanks

Remember the ECM is comparing things to see if something doesn't agree. It knows if the throttle is showing close to idle there can't be a ton of air going across the MAF.
If the values of the TPS and MAF are in valid ranges, it can't be sure "who" isn't telling the truth; but it knows someone is lying. Example: TPS showing WOT and MAF indicates a trickle of air (code 34).
Verify the TPS wiring and that it is outputting a smooth voltage change when moved and is calibrated.
