random sensor question..
I just had a random question involving sensor(s) coming from the heads of a carbed lg4. I took all that stuff off a very long time ago and when I come to put everything back together, there's one or two things i kinda forgot. I know the coolant temp sender is on the driver side, but a friend of mine, who had an f-body of the same year told me that the other side had a knock sensor, which i just might have in my hand right now... not sure.
So, i go out to the local pick n' pull, or at least what I thought it still was ( they made me leave my tools behind), and they tell me that if it's carbed it wouldn't have a knock sensor and if it did, it'd be on the side of the block (which also kinda makes sense).. my question is, where would this mystery sensor go? is it even from my camaro, or did it somehow make its way into the camaros' collection of random parts on accident?
the one on the left is already known, but the one next to it is a mystery..

Re: random sensor question..
haha, well i guess it won't really matter until I can figure out how to remove those plugs huh? They're square and LOOK like 3/8 but i have yet to find a ratchet in my collection that will fit it..

Re: random sensor question..
WTF are you talking about, the spark plugs or that sensor, because there is some sensor (cant remember what kind) that i took out of a friends Olds, and i had to go buy a special socket for it...nothing i had fit it and i got plenty of tools
oh BTW it looks like a CTS.......i wonder if it did get in there by accident, maybe your garage monster is playing tricks on you, he could of got tired of eating your 10mm sockets and wrenches
i know my garage monster loves 10mm Supreme Member

Re: random sensor question..
It's just a plug that the company put in there where the coolant temp sender goes.. I couldn't get it off before i put on the heads, got pissed off an put them on anyways.. now I want to put it on, but I still can't find anything that fits into it.. I don't know, I emailed the company again, we'll see if they have any magic tricks for me... My problem was usually 9/16, i've misplaced a lot of those.

Re: random sensor question..

look at my last post i did a edit oppps!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: random sensor question..
One on the left looks like the sensor for your temp gague on the dash (between #1 & #3 spark plugs). One on the right looks like a fan temp switch (between # 6 & #8 plugs). Neither is a knock sensor- they look totally different.

Re: random sensor question..
Okay, so the plug is actually closer to 5/16.. I did some testing with a rod i got from napa and it fit, sorta.. clearance makes it hard to be definative on that one.. Anyways, the rod is bend to hell now so i guess the plug won this round..

Re: random sensor question..
Okay, so i gave up on that again. It's only going to the gauge and the only consequence to this not being hooked up would be my lack of knowing how hot I'm running, correct? if so, I may just wait until it's tuned and painted and then just let a mechanic get pissed off at it. Or maybe the maintenance guys at my work..
