guys i got the vin off the back of the block i am going to rebuild 3970010 with 23gm right above it the vin on the front of the block reads11s134675 v0118c60 is this a 305 or 350 the heads casting numbers are186 gm29 3827186

 

010 casting means a 4" bore which means it's probably a 350. 302 and 327 shared the same casting.

v0118c60, recheck those last 3 digits. I can't find a listing for C60 or C6O

Recheck the head casting also. 3827186 isn't a good number but 3927186 is. All the 4" bore blocks used those camel hump heads. They should have 2.02/1.60 valves and accessory bolt holes.

11S134675 is the part of the VIN number for the original car the engine was in.

 

hey thanks for the info i just finished tearing the motor down i was hopeing it to be a 4 bolt main it wasnt but it does have the camel hump heads on it thecam that came out of it has an 11 stamped on it the crank has 10 thousants bearings and no over size on the pistons 3 of the old pistons have cracks in the skirts i ordering me a 383 stroker kit monday after noon any help you could give i will take

 

Have a machine shop put the short block together. They'll have proper measuring tools. Sounds like the engine has been rebuilt at least once already.
