couple 3 questions

In the last month I got two third gens. One is just gonna be a friday night drag car which these questions are in regard to.

1. I am putting in a 350/700r4 combo, the engine is a 90 5.7, would like to up the compression ratio a bit, would I be better using a thinner gasket or pick up some 305 heads?

2. Does somebody know the length of the 700's out of the camaro's? I understand there are long tailshaft and short, not sure which I have in my shop and wondering if it is correct or not. (I could just check my other z but it is at the shop right now).

3. It appears I have forgotten my other question for now lol, (it is hell getting old).

Thanks

It depends which 350 and 305 heads you have.

There's really only one applicable length for 700R4's. As long as it didn't come from a 4x4 or a Corvette it'll work, with the right tailshaft housing put on it.

Re: couple 3 questions

Dont have the casting numbers off the 350's yet (but they are stock truck heads), but the 305's have 194 valves and I believe 64cc chambers.

The tranny is out of a truck also, but not a 4x4. So it should slip right in?

Yes, if it's a V8 belhousing and you put the F-body tailshaft housing on it.
