fuel pump relay "83 firebird"

any ideas of how to bypass fuel pump relay to make sure the fuel pump is working. i done it to my chevy truck, but dont know where the the wire to bypass the relay is located on my trans am. i know i should try to hear for humming sound ,but since i dont have anyone to turn the key for me, and i cant hear from inside the car. thanks

I will look in my service manual if I can free up some time this afternoon...

also, try rolling the window down and standing outside the car to listen for the humming sound... thats what I have to do...

tino is your car CFI or carbed? if carbed, you may only have a mechanical pump

On this website http://theking.joakimweb.se/z28/felkoder.htm there's an image of a dash and just below it is an ALDL diagram. Apply 12volts to the "G" terminal. This is a great way to drain the tank.

On my CFI car I just jumped from the orange wire on one side on the connector to the red wire connector on the other side of the relay. pump came on right away. In fact that is how my pump is set up now with the orange wire wired to a ignition hot and the red pump power wire wired to the orange wire.
