Distributor Timing

Hi, I'm having trouble timing my car. I got it to where I thought it should be but it seems to crank over, hit every now and then but won't stay running I don't know what to do exactly. It's a 350 with vortec heads and a lunati 60103 cam. 750 speed demon carb. Every time I hit the gas it would hit, but then it wouldn't keep running... acts like it doesn't have enough fuel but that's not the problem.
