What are the Symptoms of Ignition Module failure.

My engine is missing and I have isolated issue to Ignition. Has anyone had this part fail if so what symtoms did the engine show?

I had one go bad that caused misfires, especially at idle. You could put a timing light on the plug wires and watch it miss. Drove me crazy for a while.

I think i might have that problem too. Just so I completely understand this, i can put a timing light on all the cylinders, look at the timing mark on the crank pulley and watch it miss. Also if just one or two cylinders are bad wouldn't it more likely be a spark plug wire or maybe the contact in the distributor. I wanna try this tomorrow if i can get my hands on a timing light. Thanks for any help.

No, just watch the light. It will blink every time the plug fires. It should be nice and steady. Yes, it should do it on any plug wire if it's the module. It could be the pick-up coil too. Both are cheap, so replace them both if you do one. Don't forget the heatsink compound under the module if you replace it.
