Way past running rich!!! HELP

ok so im 17 and have put every paycheck i make into my car im about ot start driving and the last thing to fix is the running rich problemits an 84 z28 with the 305 l69 all stock it has the rochester quadrajet. i get paid thursday and im gonna go get an o2 sensor what kind should i get also what other things on the engine should i look at to help with the running rich problem. you can start it and let it run for like 5 min and the plugs foul out you can here the excess gas poping in the exhaust and if you stick your head down by the exhaust tip it burns the crap out of your eyes and makes you light headed.

check the fuel pressure your regulator may have gone out and is just dumping fuel also you may have a internal leak in your carb

how do i check the fuel pressure by the way its a mechanical fuel pump

they sell a gauge that will attach to your fuel line attach it after the regulator should be about 6-8 psi
