Which starter to get?

I need a new starter for my car (305 TPI), and I was wondering what you guys recommend. I had horrible experience with a duralast starter on my last thirdgen - the lifetime warranty was no good considering I had to keep replacing it every 6 months or so. I looked at getting an LT1 starter, but it's $150 plus a $50 core, so $200 for me. Summit sells a powermaster mini starter for $120, and I was wondering if anyone is running that one. Or, are there any other good options?

Re: Which starter to get?

I used the AcDelco replacement starter for C4 Corvettes. Just make sure it is one of the mini-starters that the later C4s used. Like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/88-89...ies#ht_500wt_0

if you check on ebay, corvette central often sells these for as little as $95

Re: Which starter to get?

I have a car other than my Camaro, powered by a SBC.I ordered a Tuff Stuff mini 'gear reduction' starter from Speedway. It's actually a Hitachi clone, or at least it has the same power ratings. It costs about $175 and IMO it's worth it.Turn the key and forget it
