Oil Leak

Hey i got this problem i think i might know what it is but i wanted to get some of your guys input. I had just put in a new 2 piece main in back (what a pain) So i was assembling the engine and i got one of those felpro one piece gaskets for my oil pain but now when i put my oil pan i forgot to torque the bolts on so i had our other class do that when they bled the brakes and put a new proportioning valve on. I noticed they just put it wrench tight not torque wrench specs so i think they might have bent the oil pan out of square and this is causing the leak but what do you guys think.

Re: Oil Leak

It can.
The only way to really know is to take it back down. I have never torqued and oil pan. Just snug them.

Anyway, if you take it down and it is dimpled from the bolts, you can use a ball peen hammer, using the ball side, tap, do not hit. Tap the center of the bolt holes, until flat. If you hit it you can either go to far or bend the whole flange.
