Odd Spark Plug Wire Issue, Won't read near distributor??
I've been chasing an idle issue ghost and ran into something that I've never come across. After replacing my MAF relays, CTS, and cleaning the MAF sensor itself; the L98 didn't want to fire on all cylinders initially. I took my timing light to test each wire for consistant firing spark. On the passenger side all four New Taylor wires worked as expected, but when I went to test the plug wires on the drivers side, I could't get my light to flash. I hooked it up to number 1 near the spark plug and got a correct flashing, but as I went back up the wires nearer the distributor, I couldn't get the timing light to read.
I know that I'm getting a strong spark off the new distributor cap, as my wife watched me body slam across the front fender like a dolphin when the MSD spark box bit hard! Wow, I've never felt an ignition kick like that before! It was like going from coolaid to triple expresso!!
So why wouldn't I be getting a timing light reading on the driver's side plug wires. Every thing is new and improved on this. Nitro-Nicky
