brodix 11x heads

I just bought a used set of brodix 11spx cylinder heads and was wondering if anybody else here has had any experience with them.
They are 225 cc raised intake runners, spread port exhaust, 60/40 valve spacing, and came with titanium retaainers, 2.08 1.60 valves, and supposedly good solid roller valve springs. Those will be checked out before reassembly. They flow over 300 cfm @ .650.
I will be running them on a 13:1 406 with a big solid roller, probably in the 260 @.050 range.
Has anybody else run these, how well did they perform, any special port work I should perform?

They're a good head for what they're designed to do. The SPX do not flow 300 plus. The CNC'd versions do.

Unless you have access to a flow bench, I wouldn't try a DIY port job on them, either the regular SPX or CNC'd.

Re: brodix 11x heads

brodix are heads made by a chinese company and as such are cast in china. quality control sucks there.
have the heads checked for microscopic cracks and flaws in the casting before you spend too much money on the rest of the engine.
i generally dont trust anything that is cast in china, they have no quality control.

I appreciate your post and concern for me spending money on poorly casted heads, but I was under the impressionn that brodix was among the most respected head companies.
These are not the cnc ported version, but they have been ported and came with a flow sheet showing 305 cfm @ .650 lift. I will have them checked by my local head guru on a bench though to be sure.
