AIR Headers?

Does anyone know of any companies (besides Edelbrock) that makes headers (shortie or long) with the AIR tubes?

Thanks

Re: AIR Headers?

Dyno Don, here on TGO makes them (long tubes). Nice units, but not real cheap either.

There is a sticky post in the Exhaust forum titled "What's the best exhaust? What are the best headers?" that you need to read. And you're good to stay away from Edelbrock.

Dyno Don's headers are shorties. He doesnt make long tubes.

Re: AIR Headers?

Hooker, SLP, Hedman, Dyno Don, Edelbrock, and others all do, or at least are available with them... anything labelled as "Emitions Legal" will have AIR tubes on them.

What is the story on Edelbrock headers Kevin? I just installed a set and couldn't be happier. My throttle resonse is sharp, they've no doubt upped my HP, they sound great and the driveablity has increased tenfold. And last but not least the install was cake. The only problems I had was that they did not supply a gasket for the "Y" pipe to catalytic converter and they need to supply more heat shield material for the fuel line. And what's really nice is how the "Y" pipe tucks up under the car. I used to be able to see the old stock pipe from about 10' on the passenger side. No more though. I have no problems with them.

Re: AIR Headers?

Did you see the sticky post?

Edelbrock headers have a horrible routing of the pipes that makes it tough to change the spark plugs. They used to be two 1 1/2" tubes and two 1 5/8" tubes on each header and claimed that made more torque. Then about 5 years ago they changed the design to all 1 5/8" tubes. The welds inside the ports at the flange are huge and restrict the port size. The black shipping paint flakes off and metal they use turns to ash white within 1000 miles of use. The y-pipe is squished together into two D shapes. Shall I go on?

Re: AIR Headers?

Maybe that's why they're affordable at under $400 shipped.
