85 camaro problems!!!!!Help!!!!!

my 1985 Camaro Z28 started shooting oil out of the dipstick a couple days ago. i changed the oil and now the oil pressure is over 60 psi!. when you rev the engine the oil pressure drops to about 40 psi the pops back up. when i did my oil change really thick oil came out. The car has a 5.0 TPI.

Engine sludge?
Oil pump?

Re: 85 camaro problems!!!!!Help!!!!!

cars that have sat for long periods can/will build up eng. sludge . change PCV valve , flush eng. & all breather lines . if you can , remove valve covers ( disc. battery first ) and make sure drain holes on lwr. front & rear of heads are clear first . a good enema/flush of the oil system can do wonders . good luck .

Oil shooting out the dipstick? The only time I've ever had an engine do that, i had a whole in a piston and all the compression from that cyl was going into the crankcase.
