Pulling 305 TBI than building it
I have running out of room at my house I figured I could pull it now, figure out how to build motors and such than go from there. I am going to disconnect the wiring harness take out the A/C. Do I need to take out the distributor or anything to clear the firewall when I pull it out? How would I unbolt the transmission so I could pull that out the same time. I might take off the heads, intake and carb because my friend and I would be pulling it out with a long metal bar and chain.

i've heard of people just taking off the cap but i would go ahead and pull the dizzy out to prevent it from getting broke....... as far as the tranny take off drive shaft , torque arm, shift cable, electrical connectors and cooling lines then unbolt cross member

Sounds like a plannn, last time I pulled the motor I was probably 16 and it was a 2.8 that we just lifted out and threw. It was a school night and there were 10 people and my car at friends garage and we were drinking that was insane.

Re: Pulling 305 TBI than building it
If I ever get this done and swap the motor I plan to have A/C, smog pump, egr, and a.i.r. removed. What would I have to do to have this? I looked at some motors and do not even see a a/c delete pulley. I probably also will swap T.B.I. for TPI and remove cruise control
