What kind of budget do you have to spend on heads? That determines what kind of heads you can look at.

The cam you selected looks fine.

Re: hey another engine build ??

wondering when that question would come up lol. well since that pretty induction system takes a pretty penny to get, not much anymore. i would like to pay no more then 400 a head...but i could go up to 600 a head so i guess up to 1200 for a pair...but im open to any set really i just want to have this car running sooner then later

Re: hey another engine build ??

Stick to the major companies. I like RHS heads on motors I do for customers. Benefit to RHS heads is, since they're owned by Comp Cams, buying assembled heads from them comes complete with their stuff, which I am fond of.

Dart has some good stuff, World, Brodix, possibly look at Trick Flow, Canfield. All would be good choices. Stay in the 180-190ish intake cc range. Be ready to reselect your pistons after you select cylinder heads. Knowing the cc's of the heads combustion chamber is required for selecting the correct piston.

Re: hey another engine build ??

Why the Vortec stuff? Why not a regular aftermarket MPFI system?

Re: hey another engine build ??

well, personal experence, the induction system is one of the best ive ever dealt with, and i had mpfi, ya never again. but as for the heads i dont know. i hear they are good, but ive never dealt with them, plus you know i though vortec induction vortec heads...but i now nothing of heads.

and a side note but the vortec system, it has everything, lik fuel stuff, ignition compents, the new harness i need anywas, and the computer, its just easier for meto get that kit. getting into the fuel/ignition stuff is way above my head right now.
