Just rebuilt the engine in my 1990 camaro, all stock other than pro comp heads, lt4 hot cam, and slp runners. Had pcmforless burn a chip and car ran great. Engine lost oil pressure shortly after install, so i tore it apart and fixed that problem. Now for the fun part. After installing engine again the car shows ses code number 43 and when i put it in gear it shakes and runs horrible, and when i try to give it some gas it will not accept it and wants to die. Eventually when i play with it just right i can get it to go down the road and it runs mediocre. I have tried unplugging knock sensor and pretty sure everything is plugged in correctly. I am at my wits end trying to fix it so any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for the response. yea i have the initial timing set at 8 degrees. Any one else have any more ideas? I am in a bind. I have tried resetting the computer and code still comes back and problem presists. Is there a way to by-pass the knock sensor? Please help....

 

code 43 = electronic spark control, check the voltage at the ecm a-b connector terminal b7;it should be over 6 volts unless the system is sensing detonation.check for loose connection. replace the esc sensor and/ or module,jimmy

 

what is the module you are speaking about?
