Don't use plugs with the screw-on tips.

Headers, or stock exhaust manifolds?

Nothing wrong with them. Loosen the tip a little, squeeze it down a little in the vice, tighten it back down. It'll stay put.

Re: Changing spark plugs

put anti-sieze on the plug threads and a little dielectric compound inside the plug wire boots to make them easier to remove in the future.

i had to disconnect the A.I.R. tubes on the driver's side to get at the second plug up from the firewall.

Re: Changing spark plugs

Some of the plugs are much easier to get from under the car. Like #5 and #7 mentioned above.

Re: Changing spark plugs

When I did mine, I used a rachet, spark plug socket 2 or 3 extensions, a u-joint, 3/4 wrench and a stubby wrench.
You can put the wrench on the outside of the socket if you cannot get a rachet to it.
My car is an 89 RS with shorty headers. Don't know what brand they were on when I bought it.
But I got all of mine from the top. Took a little bit but not to bad.
I did have to get header plugs though.
